I'm Alex. I'm a writer, hip hop artist and overall pretty nice guy. I'm a media producer turned copywriter, with lots of other stops along the way. I've worked in film, social media, marketing, PR and finance.

When I was in college, I read Ralph Waldo Emmerson's "Self-Reliance." That kind of changed the game for me. The idea of self actualization - conquering the world, it was all so inspiring to me. So, I did what any normal college student would do. I made a list of all of the things I wanted to do before I kicked the derp bucket and I started checking it off one by one.

I still have a lot to do, but it's allowed me to stay focused on what is important to me. Besides, that's what modern medicine is for. My grandma lived to be 103, so I'm thinking 115 isn't entirely out of the question.

Life to me is all about experience. You try new things and you focus on the effort over the outcome. Failures, successes, they're all accompanied by the same thing - experience.

A wise creative once told me, "don't write for a brand, write as one." I interpret that as the need to stay true to one's voice. My writing is just an extension of my voice, and my voice is a result of my experiences.

So that's me. The goof of Mark Twain who wishes he could be more like Ben Franklin. A little bit crazy, a little bit determination and a whole lot of laughing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. At the very least, I should be able to tell you a good knock knock joke.
